Semmes Expands, Adding Three New Attorneys

Semmes is pleased to announce that Zachary D. Schlein has joined the firm’s Litigation practice as Counsel, and Emma J. Dorris and Brian W. Rollyson have joined the firm as Associates in the Workers’ Compensation and Employers’ Liability practice.

Mr. Schlein brings over eight years of experience litigating large and complex civil cases, including lead-exposure cases and nursing home negligence cases. He has been selected as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers® every year since 2016. A graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law, he served as an Associate Comments Editor on the University of Baltimore Law Review.

Ms. Dorris represents employers and insurance companies in the defense of workers’ compensation claims. Before joining Semmes, she was a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Michael Wachs of the Circuit Court of Anne Arundel County, Annapolis, MD.  She clerked for one of Maryland’s top criminal law firms and was a Student Attorney at the Immigrant Rights Clinic. She also interned with the Honorable Sally D. Adkins of the Maryland Court of Appeals, as well as the Maryland Office of the Public Defender.

Mr. Rollyson joins Semmes from a prominent Baltimore law firm and focuses his practice on representing employers and insurance companies in the defense of workers’ compensation claims. A graduate of the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, he served as Editor for the University of Maryland Journal of Health Care Law and Policy. He was a Judicial Law Intern and Judicial Law Clerk for Judge Cheryl A. McCally of the Montgomery County Circuit Court. He was also a Legal Intern for Ray Pilkerton of the Montgomery County State’s Attorneys Office and for Delegate Kelly Schulz of the Maryland General Assembly, whom he helped run and organize her 2014 re-election campaign.
