Semmes Begins 2026 with Three Attorney Hires 

Semmes is pleased to welcome attorneys Anthony (Tony) Coppola, Sarah E. Krider, and Kara K. Parker.

Tony Coppola joins the firm’s Litigation Practice Group as Counsel and brings more than 18 years of experience representing clients in complex disputes at both the trial and appellate levels. His practice focuses on appellate advocacy and high-stakes business litigation in state and federal courts. Mr. Coppola has represented businesses and high-profile clients in commercial litigation, including matters involving professional sports organizations and team ownership groups.

An experienced appellate advocate, Mr. Coppola has represented clients before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the Supreme Court of Virginia, and the U.S. Department of Labor Benefits Review Board. He routinely handles appeals involving complex legal, statutory, and regulatory issues, and has extensive experience drafting appellate briefs, petitions, and dispositive motions.

Sarah E. Krider joins the firm’s Workers Compensation and Employers’ Liability Practice Group as an associate. Ms. Krider has defended numerous claims for Employers and Insurers before the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission. She is a certified mediator and member of the Maryland State Bar Association.

Prior to joining Semmes, Ms. Krider was an associate at another Baltimore law firm where she tried numerous cases before the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission and handled claims on appeal in the Maryland Circuit Court.

Kara K. Parker joins the firm’s Workers Compensation and Employers’ Liability Practice Group as Counsel. Ms. Parker has tried countless cases before the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission, Maryland Circuit Courts, Maryland District Courts, Maryland Commission on Civil Rights and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. 

Prior to joining Semmes, Ms. Parker spent more than six years practicing workers’ compensation and employment defense at a Baltimore area law firm. She regularly works with risk management professionals to develop practical, strategic solutions for employers navigating complex workers’ compensation and liability issues.
