Zachary D. Schlein

Experience

Zachary D. Schlein is a principal in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, representing retailers, insurers, property owners, contractors, and other businesses in complex civil litigation throughout Maryland’s state and federal courts.

Zachary regularly defends premises liability claims on behalf of local, regional, and national retailers, including supermarket chains, as well as property management companies and commercial landlords. His practice also encompasses construction litigation, transportation and motor vehicle claims, insurance coverage disputes, property damage claims, and general negligence matters. He also handles lead-exposure and nursing home negligence cases. He has presented to attorneys and insurance professionals nationwide on defending property owners in lead-exposure litigation.

Before joining the firm, Zachary represented long-term care institutions in Medicaid eligibility matters, administrative appeals, and revenue cycle management.

Zachary earned his J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2012, where he served as an associate comments editor of the University of Baltimore Law Review. He was a judicial intern to the Honorable Joseph F. Murphy, Jr. of the Maryland Court of Appeals and later served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable John J. Nagle III of the Circuit Court for Baltimore County.
