Experience

Perneita Farrar is an associate trusts and estates attorney whose practice is rooted in a deep commitment to public service, client education, and community impact. She focuses on estate planning, probate administration, and Medicaid asset protection, helping individuals and families safeguard their assets while building and preserving generational wealth.

Before entering the legal profession, Perneita built an extensive career in professional training and public health. This background continues to inform her client-centered approach, allowing her to break down complex legal concepts and empower clients to make informed decisions about their futures. Her interest in healthcare policy ultimately led her to pursue a legal career, where she could directly influence and support individuals navigating critical life planning issues.

While attending the University of Baltimore School of Law, Perneita distinguished herself through a series of prestigious internships and fellowships, including with the U.S. Department of Justice, the Department of the Navy, and the Office of the Public Defender. In 2020, she was selected as a Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA) Student Ambassador, where she coordinated professional development and networking opportunities connecting law students with members of the legal community.

Following her graduation in 2021, Perneita served as a law clerk for the District Court of Baltimore City. After being admitted to the Maryland Bar, she worked as an Assistant County Attorney before founding her own solo practice in 2024, serving clients throughout the state of Maryland. In 2025, she joined a family law firm as Of Counsel, where she played a key role in developing and expanding its Trusts & Estates practice.

Perneita remains actively engaged in the legal community. She is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and the Alliance of Black Women’s Attorneys. In 2025, she completed the Pro Bono Resource Center’s Professional Leadership Academy Fellowship, further strengthening her courtroom advocacy skills while providing pro bono representation to underserved communities.

Perneita has shared her knowledge and perspective on many panels, seminars and conferences. Her work and insights have been featured in publications including Baltimore Magazine and the Maryland Bar Journal.
