Kara K. Parker is counsel in the firm’s Workers’ Compensation and Employers’ Liability Practice Group and has tried countless cases before the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission, Maryland Circuit Courts, Maryland District Courts, Maryland Commission on Civil Rights, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Prior to joining Semmes, Kara spent more than six years practicing workers’ compensation and employment defense at a Baltimore area law firm. She regularly works with risk management professionals to develop practical, strategic solutions for employers navigating complex workers’ compensation and liability issues.
Kara was born in raised in Baltimore. She received juris doctorate from the University of Baltimore School of Law and her bachelor’s degree in economics, with a minor in Ancient Civilizations, from the College of William & Mary, where she was a member of the division one women’s lacrosse team (Go Tribe!). While in law school, Kara had the honor of serving as a Rule-17 attorney and earned a certificate in Estate Planning and Mediation.
