Mr. Smith is an Associate in the Firm’s Workers’ Compensation & Employers’ Liability practice group. He represents employers and insurers in the defense of workers’ compensation claims in Maryland before the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission, on appeal in courts throughout the state of Maryland, and before the Court of Special Appeals and Court of Appeals in Maryland.
Before joining Semmes, Mr. Smith worked as an associate at another Maryland-based law firm where he defended insurance clients in the District Courts of Maryland in matters involving bodily injury and property damage. He also defended clients in product liability matters involving alleged asbestos exposure.
Mr. Smith also has prior experience clerking for Washington County Circuit Court Judge Brett R. Wilson and working in-house as a paralegal for PayPal. As a law student, he served as a judicial intern for Baltimore County Circuit Court Judge Judith C. Ensor.
