Experience
Alexa N. Mellis is an associate in the firm’s Workers’ Compensation & Employers’ Liability Practice Group. She represents employers and insurers in the defense of workers’ compensation claims in Maryland before the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission.
Before joining Semmes, Alexa was a law clerk with a local Baltimore firm, focusing on estate law and personal injury claims. She was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Charles H. Dorsey, III, of the Circuit Court for Baltimore City, and a judicial intern for the Honorable Daniel A. Friedman of the Appellate Court of Maryland.
While in law school, Alexa was a corporate counsel extern for the Medical Mutual Liability Insurance Society of Maryland, and a student attorney at the Saul Ewing Civil Advocacy Clinic. Alexa is passionate about civil right to counsel and access to justice.
