The Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission has set the new maximum and minimum workers’ compensation rates for 2020, as well as adjusted the COLA and mileage rates.
For injuries occurring on or after January 1, 2020, the following maximum weekly workers’ compensation rates are effective in Maryland:
Temporary Total Disability and Vocational Rehabilitation: $1,080.00
Temporary Partial Disability: $540.00
First Tier Permanency (1-74 weeks): $181.00
Second Tier Permanency (75-249 weeks): $360.00
Serious Disability (250+ weeks): $810.00
Permanent Total Disability: $1,080.00
The mileage rate is $0.575 per mile, and the COLA is 2.0.
District of Columbia
The District of Columbia Office of Workers’ Compensation has set the new maximum and minimum workers’ compensation rates for 2020, as well as adjusted the COLA and mileage rates.
Beginning January 1, 2020, the maximum compensation rate has increased to $1,535.44 and the minimum compensation rate has increased to $383.86.
In addition, in accordance with Section 32-1506 of the District of Columbia Workers’ Compensation Act, Claimants who are permanently and totally disabled, and any dependents receiving indemnity payments in amounts that are less than the new maximum, receive a supplemental allowance increase equal to .90% of the current benefit amount.
The mileage rate is $0.575, and the COLA is .90%.
