2025/2026 Updates to Virginia and West Virginia Workers’ Compensation Rates

In addition to West Virginia updates, Virginia also has the following new, recent, and upcoming rate changes:  

  • Effective January 1, 2025, the mileage reimbursement rate will increase from $.67 to $.70 per mile. (This rate change is prospective and will automatically change on January 1 of subsequent years to the IRS Standard Mileage Rate in effect on that date.)
  • Effective July 1, 2025 the maximum compensation rate will be $1463.10.
  • Effective July 1, 2025 the minimum compensation rate will be $365.78.
  • Effective October 1, 2025 the cost of living adjustment (COLA) rate will be 2.85%
